Welcome to Re-claimed

Your spiritual journey will have twists and turns, ups and downs, marked by times of closeness to and distance from God. Whether a desire to hear from God has led you here or the Lord is stirring within you and you're unsure of your feelings, you're in the right place.

Spiritual direction and mentorship offer a safe space to explore what God is calling forth in your inner being. Here, you can be your authentic self without judgment.

Similar to a worn and weathered chair, our lives can start to feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and depleted. Re-claimed offers a space to take a breather with a trusted companion, allowing you the time to discover and "reclaim" your true self, the person you were meant to be.

Jesus said, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." (John 13:7)

Together, we will seek understanding through God's Word.

About Re-claimed

Donna Cooper

How is it with your soul?
This is our starting place.
Why did I choose the name Re-claimed for my practice? It stems from my journey and what I've discovered about the true self versus the false self. It's an ongoing adventure of re-claiming the true self—the person and purpose God created within all of us.
Often, we find ourselves overwhelmed by the demands and distractions of life, which can distance us from Christ. Add to that relational hurts, betrayals, disappointments, losses, fears, and more, and the saying "We can't see the forest for the trees" might be better expressed as "We can't hear God through the noise of life."
I deeply desire to provide women with a special place to rest, sometimes weep, and safely and confidentially process their faith journey and life experiences.
Being present for another to listen, hear, and discern the work of the Lord is a privilege and a ministry that the Lord has invited me to embrace.
"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20
I look forward to all that the Lord has in store for you.

My Background

Donna Cooper

You may be asking yourself what background or education qualifies me to be a spiritual director and mentor. This is an important question, and one you should indeed be asking. First and foremost, I believe one is "called" to this ministry over time and through years of life experiences. The ministry of spiritual direction and mentoring is fundamentally about offering spiritual wisdom and discernment to others.

Education and Training:

I attended the Moody Bible Institute, where I completed their Christian Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction course under the leadership and mentorship of Nancy Kane, Associate Professor of Educational Ministries at Moody. Additionally, I am a member of the Evangelical Spiritual Directors Association (graftedlife.org/esda).

Experience:

I was blessed to serve on a church staff for 14 years, which I consider my second career after my former corporate career. During my time on staff, I oversaw small groups, women's ministries, volunteer teams, and more. My favorite role was that of Spiritual Formation Director, where I provided one-on-one spiritual direction and mentoring to women of all ages. Since leaving church employment, I have continued my ministry independently through my affiliation with ESDA since 2015. I've also served as a team member providing spiritual direction for Moody's Christian Spiritual Formation program and The Caritas Center for Christian Formation.

Why Choose Me?

One cannot offer what they have not received, nor can one understand without experience. God has designed my life to include a wide range of experiences that help me relate to others easily, to share in their sufferings, and to celebrate their victories.

I am committed to providing a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore and grow in your faith.

Together, we will seek to understand God's work in your life, relying on His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your path to spiritual growth and fulfillment.

Donna

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
